One of the more obscure Heddon reels, the No.30 Winona. Rarely see them for sale, much less with the only original box I've ever seen. The boxes were so fragile for such a heavy reel, that few likely survived.

Nice gaggle
That was an old reaction to finding my reel photos on websites from Europe, South America, and Asia. :-x Recently, I found a lot of stuff from Ron G.'s site - text and pics - on some Asian site.

With the current world situation, this could be the most valuable reel in my collection!!!!

Very nice combo. The bigger #1200 box came with the leather case, tool, a spare pawl in a sleeve, and its unique paperwork. Supposedly, it came with practice casting plug also, but I've never been able to verify that. great display!
Desperately seeking SB reel #100A, a #600 box. JMadden

Early Heddon Auto Thumber, sold during the Carter Era. Had to be soldered to reel seat, probably not a very popular item, in its day.

Nice Thumber & Box. Very Rare.
Speaking of Heddon reels, here's a few. Not scarce reels, but hard to find in the original packages.

Here's a package with a Hoppe's Oil accessory made for James Heddon's Sons.

And one more Heddon…

Carter Era Heddon #30 in box with leather case. There were two different size boxes, the larger size accommodated the leather case.

I've tried every possible method for breeding them. Nothing works...

Heck, here's one more.

I meant to post this here originally.
Sitting around the house in self isolation as I hope we all are to prevent the spread of the virus, I thought some might post these as a diversion to our collective boredom.
I have liquidated my collection of Pflueger Medalists - 1392, 1394, 1492, 1494, 1594, 1495, 1495 1/2, 1396, 1496, 1496 1/2, 1498.
What remains is a small collection of Pflueger Fly Reels with their boxes. (pictured left to right)
Mint Progress 1784 (80 yd.) bottom of box stamped 5/36
Near Mint Medalist 1494 bottom of box stamped 10/30
Mint Medalist 1394 bottom of box stamped 12/35
Mint Egalite 1904 bottom of the box stamped 2/31
Of the four, the Egalite is the toughest to find in mint condition, especially with the box.

WOW Mark! Your tackle room must look like a 1930s tackle store with all the reels in their boxes. Fantastic collection, thanks for sharing!

I posted a larger selection of the flies on show and tell, but here is the Hendryx reel we discussed last week on a Leonard fly rod butt, along with circa 1920s William Mills and Son “Black Fairy” double hook salmon flies.

Great idea John. it’s always a treat to see the amazing reels on this site and hear the stories behind them. I thought in keeping with the theme of being “boxed” in, to include a photo of a favorite of mine I found a couple years ago.

One of the toughest models to find, the "Thorobred", from the Kalamazoo Tackle Co., in the original presentation boxed kit and outer box.

Wow, just when you think you’ve seen ‘em all, Mark lays the Thorobred on us. Nice!
