haven't heard much about Nashville and the Great Floods of 2011...is the Grand Ole Opry safe this year? That could be pretty off-putting if they have to turn around and do all the over again!

Yo Deke: Nashville had no probs with flooding this year, although I suspect folks who finally got their homes repaired were still nervous when the Harpeth River got slightly above flood stage a few days ago.
I sympathize with these people, but the "powers that be" are shamelessly responsible. I wrote a report (published with maps) in the 70s warning that a flood in this basin as high as 10 feet over flood of record was possible. The report, based on C of E studies, has been available for purchase all these years. The flood of 2010 was-guess what-10 feet over flood of record. Oh well.
Now its Memphis. We need to send some water to West Texas. La Nina is a mean b----!
