Sunshine Automatic Trolling Reel

Post by Joan »

I have aquired a trolling reel and have no idea of its age or value. I was hoping someone out there might have come across on in a pricing book and would be able to pass along some information.

Does the reel say "Sunshine" on it or does it have a logo that looks like a sun shining?

Any trolling reel in Alberta must be a rare thing.

It is probably one of those large diameter single action wire or lead core line trolling reels. They seem fairly common in Canada and the Great Lakes area, or wherever there are lake trout.

If you go to ontariolures.com and look at the reel photos there is a photo of a L.S.D. Sunshine reel. Does that sound like a flash back to the sixtys? The label states Made in Windsor Ontario by the L.S.&?ick company Ltd. Pat pending. Believe these were used hand trolling along the detroit river. If interested I can send photos. Glenn Grady

That is exactly the one. I found it on that site also. I was wondering if anyone has seen one and the age and any idea of the value? Or what kind of money would you be will to spend on it if it came your way?

How do I post a picture on here?

Joan if you join Photo Bucket , it's free. You can transfer photos into it and use photobucket as a host to allow you to put photos on the ORCA forum. There is advice on how to do it all on their site. I figured it out from their instructions so you should be able to as well.
