:D 8) :!:  :?:  :type: TXTRUCKER , there are two types in the Mdl.#80 one is a sidecast green and black and list in lawsons 3rd edition at EXIB at $25.00 the other one is MDL.80 spin GREEN NIB. at $30.00, both are nice reels both will land fish in the 25lb. class and both are smooth action reels. Use what ever line your paperwork recomends , as most were factory strung, if you are going to fish them get rid of old line, DO NOT go more than largest weight the paper states or you will get tangles. Place a few drops of lite oil on moving parts and enjoy! Your Ohio Conection Col. milton Lorens aka SWIm JIG

Milt: That reel looks like Mr. Johnson invented it when half way thru a fifth of gin! haven't ever tried to use one nor have I unzipped it to see the set-up, but seems at first glance it ought to hang up on cast with that side-mount...what the deal with this mechanism? How is it used?

John, I think the side-cast reels were made to use with fly rods - Magics, etc. - made to throw mono and a spinner with your fly rod.
