Fishing reel vs. Gatling gun

Built this last week. Still need to paint the barrels and put a few finishing touches on it. Contains a little japanese, pflueger, and mitchell.
What'dya think?

Neat! You need to figure out how to get the thing to shoot rubber bands...or lures!

Way cool ! Nice add would be a battery-box, rotating contacts and lights in the end of the barrels. Firing...light comes on, then the next barrel light on...and so on. LOL!

I could not fathom drilling the holes and running the wires to mount little led's in the end of those barrels. I have considered adding 4 more barrels to fill it in a little, but i hate to mess with a "done" piece.

Rick, i could never mangle a couple of old reels to make two items so distantly related. :mrgreen:
However, if i ever do try to sell it, i promise i wont claim Mr. Gatling made it... :oops:

LOL...Hey, It's an ingeneous idea that you came up with. Please, if ya have the time, post one more pic once ya get those barrels colored. You've helped motivate me to make a reel out of antler. That ought keep me in the garage for a month...she'll like that! :wink:

Here is the finished product with painted barrels. Sorry the pic is so crumby, i just wasn't up to doing a "reel" photo shoot just yet. :-)

I re-added the level wind, trimmed extra screw material away on the front support, painted barrels, and cleaned up the aluminum flashing holding handle and barrel supports.

Only thing left i may do is play with the laser etcher at work and make the "fishingat" an official marked reel, lol.
