I tapped it out from the underside of the rim with a small, flat-head screwdriver by gently tapping it with a hammer. Then I took a jewelers file to clean things up and lastly wet sanded to get out the file marks.
Not for the faint of heart.
Oddly enough ...I never can muster the courage for something like that unless I've had a glass of wine. The trick is to finish before I have another glass.
