Mystery Reel

Post by Steve K »

Thanks for all the help last week with my posting of an unmarked reel that I thought was a Malleson, and has now been positively ID'd as a Whiting & Hendricks.

Now here is my next recently purchased stumper..( Malleson?) :?:
Any thoughts on this? Bottom of reel foot is stamped 80. NPB construction.
Reel is in as found condition.

Thanks again..

Great finds

Where or where are you finding all these jewels ? The arrow sure
looks Malleson. Steve Vernon has a great deal more expertise
than I, perhaps he`ll offer his opinion.

Mystery reel

The Whiting & Hendryx I found on Joe's page about 2 months ago.
This most recent find is a reel I had been watching at an antique mall in Statesville, NC last year only to find the mall closed about 6 months ago.
I had also met the owner of the reel at a flea market in Liberty NC and kept track of his name.
Last week I gave him a call, and he still had the reel.
He will be at the Pigeon Forge show with more of his reels and other fishing items in January 05.

Thanks
Steve

I'll get a check in the mail Monday to Roger for that copy of newsletter, and a few others. Thanks Steve
