Hello to all - I'm new here and am not really a reel collector, but this seems to be the appropriate place on the internet to ask this question. My father-in-law passed away over a year ago, leaving his wife to clean out his huge garage full of accumulated stuff. This guy never threw away anything. In the process of clearing things out, my mother-in-law told her children and their spouses to take anything they wanted. As we prepared for a family trip to Table Rock lake in MO, I went in to see if there were any rods and reels that I could use to equip the fishing boat.
Long story short, of the rods & reels that were there, there are some that appear to have been kept around a long time and/or with which I am not familiar. I'll list the details from what markings I can find below. What I'd like to know is if any of these might be worth anything. Currently they are in a used condition - I haven't even done a cursory cleaning to see how they might be graded. What I'd like to know is if they'd be worth my time to clean up to sell or whether I'd do better to dispose of them. Here's the list:
Shakespeare True Blue 1956 Model EH baitcast reel, spun with an old looking woven line.
Holiday No. 64-253 spincast
Southbend 63 Model A spincast
I'd be happy to receive any advice. I don't have any pictures yet but could take some if it would help in deciding what to do with these.
Please be gentle with me - I don't know a whit about reel collecting or valuation.
Seeking input on some found reels

Hi Camper:
I'll take a shot at giving you some help.
Unfortunately, I can't tell you that you can sell them and retire.
The shakespeare and south bend are worth about 25 bucks total (for both).
The Holiday reel may be worth a little money. I don't collect Holiday, and I welcome additional comments if I'm wrong, but my guess would be about $50 if it's in excellent condition. Less if it's well used.
By the way, even though they're not worth a lot of money, I think you have some neat reels and would just hold onto them. Maybe pass them along to one of your kids or grand-kids one of these days. Best of luck to you.
