Summerday in north of Denmark

Post by Jacob : salmonfisher03 »

Sometimes I have to do other things than looking at my reels and search for more reels.

So I invited my son out to see the danish nature.

Here some pictures from the most northern point in Denmark.
It is the place where 2 seas meets - the Skagerak and the Kattegat.

On the way home we visit the sand-buried church.

The desertification that hit the area in the 18th and 19th centuries led to the abandonment of the old parish church to the migrating sands — the famous Buried Church. The tower of the church remains protruding from the dunes, as it was left as a sea marker when the church was abandoned at the close of the 18th century.

A great summerday in Denmark.

Lots of walking and ice cream

Nice country Jacob. How much of the church is under the sand?

Only the tower is left from the church. And if you go inside you will have to take some steps down to reach the floor.
Actually the tides are not that big. It is only 25 cm and in the south where I live it is 125 cm.

I'm glad you liked the pictures.

I think that is part of the O.R.C.A. pact. Honor amongst members, you know.

I forgot to mention that the secrecy pact is only amongst O.R.C.A. members. Should you ever let your membership lapse, all bets would be off. Say what? You are considering Lifetime Membership in the club? Good move.

Looking forward to more pictures for those of us who cannot afford to travel to far away places in the land of Beautiful scenery and likewise, beautiful reel collections.

You can be sure that I will be a lifetime member, and I'm not that old yet, so ORCA will get money from me many years
