- H.L. LEONARD BI-METAL FLY REEL FOR SALE -

For your consideration - A very nice, all original and unusual variation of the classic early American H. L. Leonard Bi-metal fly reel. This reel is marked:

H. L. LEONARD
PAT No 191813

The reel is all original and the foot is full length. The face plate appears to have one more tier than other models I have seen making it a bit different. Also the handle nut and washer are different than other reels I have seen making this a very interesting variation of this very desirable and hard to find early American fly reel.

Note - There is no hole in the foot so it is most likely not a Julius Vom Hofe made reel(?) Quite unusual.

The mechanical condition is excellent with a good strong click and no hitches. The outward condition is also very good (please see photos) It appears that someone began to clean the back plate and then decided against it. The reel could be cleaned to near excellent if the new owner so desired.
