Gday all, I just got an Ocean City 609 off a local auction site and it's missing the nut above handle.I'd love to get my hands on another nut to complete the reel as I plan on using it but Ocean city reels are fairly thin on the ground here in New Zealand.
Anyway my question is, is the nut specific to the 609 or does it also fit another model ? I'm asking so I can widen my search on ebay for a beater I can strip it off.
Of course if any of you have one you want to sell i'd happily buy it off you .

Andrew, A nut off an Ocean City Big game model 606 or 605 ( including the 6061 and 6051 ) will fit a 609 but thats it I think. I tried one off a Long Key , the threads were correct , but it was not deep enough. The I tried one off a 606 and it was a perfect fit. Good luck on your search. Jeff

Hey thanks Jeff, turns out the part is common to the 606, 806 and 809 according to this.

Hopefully that widens the net, even if someone has a whole tatty reel with the part I'd buy the thing as a part supply.
