A L Walker History ?
A few questions came up on Clark's board about A L Walker fly reels. And especially about this "Aeon" listed currently on ebay. A L Walker Aeon
Noticed Phil's site has no reference to this maker. Anyone know of a good history source on these?
Thanks

There's a brief writeup on pg. 127 of A.J. Campbell's book and a few snippets scattered through Jim Brown's "Treasury of Reels." Nothing in either to confirm or deny the export-only claim for the Aeon.
(Careful of that "Maker" mark, though. Based on what we learned from an earlier thread, the reel could have been made by Daiwa

A.L. Walker
Ron I have one same size, and comparing with pics. would say 'same'
the end cap has: MAKER A.L.WALKER N.Y. in 3 lines each line all caps
looks like it was stamped, mine is RHW. Change to LHW, don`t know,
bought mine from Dean Smith about a year ago.

Better take it back.....
according to Steve, that reel was probably made on the black market by a Walker "knock off" artist by the name of Maker. His work is well known in a close circle of experts.
It is well known within that circle that Walker was fishing for the rare Rainbow Snapper at the time that reel was produced. BTW, A.L. is not initials for Walker's name. They actually stand for Anonomous Lurker

Don Rinkles he is not
WOW, is that an inside joke? I got the humour of Guest one, but Guest two's wit or lack there of missed a bit. I'll give him this, where he lacks in humour he makes up in spelling.

invited??????????
anyone else sometimes feel like INVITED GUESTS ONLY carl schultz
How about ..........
only one legged men over sixtey. If you limited participation anymore you would have less than a dozen.

Lighten up a little
Children, children, children, lighten up a little. Life is too short. Smile and laugh a little. I know more than you, my reels are better than yours, mine shine more, REALLY NOW. I'll take my bat and go home. Sound familar? Talk to any three-year olds lately? Eighty going on five.
Spinless???????????????
Now we resort to name calling. Even more infintile. How old are you Ron?
Clearer Picture
Hi Ron, I read your bio to try to better understand you and grasp your spineless comment. After further review I do have a better understanding. Your bio states you like "long-haired fly-fisherman." I myself perfer long-haired fly fisherwoman, but to each their own. It does take a lot of spine to admitt that you "walk on the wild side," not that they is anything wrong with that, just not my cup of tea. Rock-on Daisy
