Help from you Pflueger Guys

Post by Harvey »

I can pick up a MINTY 4 Brothers Elinor, 60 Yd. from a guy here in town. What is it worth ( I do want to be fair) and when was it made. It has two patent dates on the tail but I don't remember what they are if that is important. (And don't tell anyone that I am looking at it, It might spoil my image.)

I would put an unboxed, mint 60 yd Elinor at maybe $60.00 - $75.00. The VG ones seem to be selling for $25.00 to $35.00 this last year. That would be my guess anyways...

they're beautiful reels and the price depends on how minty.
A brassy one (90% nickel) with box sold on ebay in November for $46.
Paul pretty much nailed it.

The Elinor came out no later than 1916 (no earlier than early 1915) and was still available in 1924. Age can be better pinpointed by button design: nipple-style earliest (teens) , volcano-style later (20s). Nice little reel! Bob
