For Sale Leonard Atwood Reel

This Leonard Atwood reel was part of my late Father's estate. This reel is 4 inches in diameter, and is beautifully inscribed. It says, " ---The National--- Leonard Atwood Philadelphia Pa. Patented" I am not a collector myself, but I do have a basic idea of what it might be worth. If anyone is interested please let me know.

What a neat piece of history! Here's the 1902 patent granted to Atwood for this unique reel:

It had a split frame so the spool could be readily removed for cleaning and lubrication...perhaps too easily as he very switched over to a fixed frame configuration in a 1906 patent.

I find this reel very interesting. It has a Medieval look to it. Are these reels high value reels
