Some More to the Story
As a followup to the "Not your typical fishing trip" http://reeltalk.orcaonline.org/viewtopi ... =9&t=14103 back in early June, I guess the Sheriff Deputy that responded to the emergency call that day recommended my wife and I for a Citizen Recognition Award. Quite a humbling surprise and honor! We pretty much tried to keep the whole thing away from the media throughout the ordeal, and that worked out pretty well. Little did we know the gentleman, Al, also had heart issues, until we got the Award Letter. Al's fine and well, bought a new, a little bit bigger, boat and has been doing some fishing. My wife still gets choked up and teary eyed when she talks about that day.
Anyway, 'twas a day we'll never forget, that's for sure.

Wow this is a cool ending. Way to go Midway. To often these days we here warning about helping people and opening yourself up to litigation. 
That man was somebodies father, husband, brother, son, grandfather and so on.
I hope if a member of my family is ever in trouble, that someone with integrity and courage is there to help them make it through.
