I need some information as to what years Pfluger made the Four Brothers Stanby rod.
Thyen I can get the correct Four Brothers reel in excellent or better condition to go with my Four Brothers Stanby rod. With the box would be nice, but not needed.
Thanks

What size Four Brothers are you looking for. Can't really tell what size/type rod that is.
Also, you have a PM on another subject.
The rod is 44" from tip to butt. It is shown in the 1929 Pflueger catalog ( it's the only Pflueger catalog I have) on page 131 they call it a bait casting rod. I would like to know what years the rod was made so I know which reels would be correct to go with it.

I show the "STANBY" model available, virtually unchanged, in all Pflueger catalogs from 1930-1939. Might very well have been made right up until WWII.

I wrote a comprehensive Reel News column on Pre-WII Pflueger rods. Sure I covered that one. Don't have the date. I also wrote a bibliography with dates of all columns but too lazy or wimpy to go out in the cold rain to my man cave to look it up. Anyone know? Seems like two years ago.
