Pflueger Supreme Relative Age?
Pflueger Supreme Relative Age?
I have four Supreme 1573. They appear identical, except for the bearing adjust ring - two have a knurled adjust ring and two have a smooth adjust ring. Is it possible to determine the relative age of these reels from this difference? Thanks.

Hello, here's another good reason to join ORCA! Bob Miller had a great five-page article in the in the Fall, 1996 Reel News. I believe he revisited the subject in latter years also. The knurled adjusting ring was used two years in 1940 and 41. It was a way to reduce the "slop" created by a lot of wear in that area. For your other two reels, foot description, knob color, and the presence of patent numbers would be ways to determine their age also. ORCAns have the advantage of being able to buy back issues. Jim
