Fantastic technology!
Wish i held the patents on all this!...and hope they carry thru with it. At a minimum, it will save Vernon's back!

Sounds great.
I'm really tired of toting a gas-powered generator in my backpack!
Plus, it'll be nice to see some huge, empty mall parking lots where no one's allowed to park except at night.
And, of course, they'll have to close those LA freeways during the daytime.
But the installation will CREATE JOBS.

I meant you should WATCH the video, Steve...it loses some of the impact just reading the title

Re: Fantastic technology!
More like LISTEN, really. Those north-country self-heating panels remind me of perpetual-motion machines, but who knows? Noticed some nice, striped wide gaps between spaces in one parking lot. Sure doesn't look like any I see around here. Does efficiency suffer when, say, 80% of a lot is covered with cars all day? Or a freeway? And let's face it, the ability to create lit-up lane lines and other road markings will, sooner or later, lead to animated ads for your driving pleasure. Sigh...you should WATCH

Imagine in 50 years or less they discover that absorbing the Sun's Power with out allowing it to return to its source actually diminishes it's mass and it goes out
Along with the discovery that Gold Jewelry,New Car Aromas and exercising in Gyms causes progressive cell degeneration .

Ditto to Steve & Nom's thoughts, not to mention that all those LED lights would drive me FREAKIN' insane.
No more seeing the stars at night and when Global Worming turns into Global Cloudy we'll be totally screwed since all those highway maintenance workers will have starved to death.

When your electric car batteries run down you could pull over and plug in for a free emergency recharge.. Light up the river bank for some night time fishing and and switch on an electric BBQ...dream on.
Re: Fantastic technology!
Can't help but feel like 10,000 eighteen wheelers a day at 70 mph will turn those things into something similar to what you see in piles at a junk yard shredder in less than a year. Ten thousand is a conservative number. One year is optimistic.

What a bunch of pessimistic luddites! (And i mean that in the most loving way
) Just use in driveways and court surfaces would be a great innovation, with or without the led lights...just MVHO!

Substitute them for mortarboards in graduation processions!
They could power fans for the sweltering audiences.

Seems to me there's just too many Yanks and cars - stop bonking, walk to the pub, fish local - yes, get a horse you guys. I would love to invite you all to live in New Zealand but that would only clutter us up - our roads could do it as planned. Second thought - leave cities as is but put tiles on the roofs, walls of buildings - would even tidy up the US a bit! Hell, use surplus energy to heat water - make Walmart smell better with clean clients - love the as seen in Walmart clips that appear from time to time...

Oh it's definitely feasible if you use foam rubber tires and velcro road surfaces to keep the cars from slipping off the grids.Steve wrote:Ahoy, Luddites!
