Meisselbach prototype, no question about it

Yeh, I know this isn't the eBay discussion board, but I had to share this great little reel with youse guys and gals. I'm pretty sure this is A.F. Meisselbach's first attempt at making a vertical Amateur reel, with a thumb drag. My guess is he was 7 or 8 years old when he fashioned this beauty. Of course, it took him a few more years to perfect it and put it on the market.

Richard, I disagree and think it's one of his last attempts to build one right, before he retired and became a beach bum in NJ. By the time he made the reel, he had finally figured out how to make round holes in the plates.
