Ocean City 609 NIB and unused South Bend saltwater rod!

I was contacted about these items for sale by a son who said dad had them in the closet and never used them. He's looking to move them along now that Dad is gone. He indicates that neither the reel nor the rod have been used. Rod is in it's original sock and reel is in original box.

I found the rod in the 1950 SB catalog....did not find it earlier. The 9/0 reel has the earlier white bullet handle....not TT. Catalogs not complete, but it's shown in the tackle trade cat for 1953 and not in the '47 cat, so it must also be '50s. One that was not in box and likely salt burned sold with BIN for 100 recently, if ebay is to be believed. This sounds like a really nice score for a collector heavy into this venue.
