Here's a few for all of you folks who couldn't make it this year.
Did I mention yachts? San Diego seems to have a lock on 'em:

ORCA Secretary/Treasurer Roger Schulz, from left, confers with show co-host Brian Funai about some of the silent auction donations, while Board member Butch Carey checks out the offerings.

Ed Barrett, left, talks reels with Mr & Mrs Gerald Scharfenberg, early in the evening

Did I mention that there's plenty of food and adult beverages?

And reels, for close inspection (Randy Anderson, Dave Erickson, Willis Logan & Hank Clough):

How close? When Clay Hood brought out an extremely rare A.C. Kellogg tournament casting reel, it was like a photo op for the technical set:

And that reel was something special, including the extra spool in its custom wooden box:

Lots of old friends and new acquaintances:

Tune in tomorrow for pics from breakfast with the board, the casting contests and Stu Lawson Ugly Reel Toss, seminars and room trading - and that's only Day 2!

p.s.: The September Reel News will be a little later in the month than usual so I can include a lot of photos and coverage of convention activities, for our many ORCA members who enjoy the print edition.
