I know this is probably a long shot, but figured I'd give it a try. I just inherited a large collection of vintage tackle, fly rods, fly reels, flies, bass plugs, saltwater tackle, salmon plugs/spoons/flashers, rods, wood tackle boxes, etc. The collection is taking up way too much room in my house, and 99% does not fall within my interest. Before I go through the trouble of selling it piece by piece, which is going to be a very time-consuming endeavor, I am wondering if anyone would trade me for one or more nice vintage big game saltwater reels for the entire lot, plus cash if there is any difference in value. Specifically, I am looking for a wide spool 16/0 EVH, a 16/0 EVH cradle (now that's a long shot!!), or anything 12/0 or bigger in the way of a Stead, Klein, Kov', or JA Coxe. I will be at the Cardiff Show next week if anyone wants to chat in person. I have only just begun to catalog it, so I do not have a list/pictures of items, but if you have something I might be interested in, I'll get right on it.
Cheers,
John

If it were me, I would catalog everything FIRST, even though it might seem daunting. Kinda seems like you're doing it backwards. I'm sure many people might be interested, if they knew what it was you're offering. Good luck to you.

Re: Large Inheritance of Vintage Fishing Tackle For Trade
Good point, Mark. That would be the logical first step. There's so much of it, though, it would take me days. I started a thread on the Classic Fly Rod Forum trying to get some info on some of the pieces (http://classicflyrodforum.com/forum/vie ... 90&start=0). It turns out, some of it is quite collectible. I guess I was hoping someone would offer up something, maybe live local where they could drop by and take a look at the collection, and save me the time of putting together a detailed inventory. But that's definitely going to be my next step, and I have already started.
