Have a recent (1990s) promo calendar book of theirs illustrated with very early fishing tackle catalog original illustrations. A great old company. Nostalgia just ain't what it used to be. Compare to Bass Pro Shop. Sigh!

Well A&F has lasted at least 10 or 15 years longer than his previous marks. It never ceases to amaze me how easy it is to flimflam corporate American, now World, business. Bankrupt 'em and move on to better pastures and do it again. I'm not sure the "name" even has much purchasing value at this point in their life span. He obviously exists in a fantasy world that where you drown it was just a momentary loss of breath. Too bad the shareholders get left holding the bag. :bricks:

I walked into an A&F store with my daughter a couple years ago...the music was absolutely deafening! I can't imagine how those employees survived a workday....but they were so incredibly hip I just want to buy some men's cologne!

John, to give a comparison to your experience... Marilyn and I walked into A & F in NYC in 1964. What a beautiful store. We wandered around for an hour or more just gawking at all the quality hunting and fishing stuff. As a poor bird dog trainer the best we could afford was a ball for our old dog.It was something like $10.00.

Geez, that was a beautiful store! Went there in 1966 on when i was there on my senior class trip (remember when classes were small enough to do that?). I had to be dragged out of there by a chaperon....much more interesting than the Empire State building!
