Montague reels wanted

Post by Don Champion »

Would like to buy MONTAGUE 4 screw (4 screws on the front like the Meek & Horton #3 reels) German silver reels that I don't have. I have the following: Fox Lake; Jay Harvey; Jupiter; V.L. & A. Expert #3; V.L. & A. Ne-Pee-Nauk; and the Van Uxem Geneva. That leaves at least 22 examples that I do not have.
Also looking for Montague fresh water German silver PARTS reels. Reels must be in good condition, no missing parts, damaged parts, heavy scratches or corrosion.
Photos please. ***email address removed***

Hi Don,
Looking over all the Montagues you had at the ORCA Convention I figured you had at least one of every one made. For those of us awed by the incredible variety Montague reels, if you can post photos of the reels you mentioned I think I, for one, would learn a thing or two and enjoy seeing high-end Monties.
I hope you get some bites from this post, too. Wish I could help!

Richard
I had very few Montagues at the national. Most of those 130 reels I started with were Pflueger, Shakespeare, Meisselbach, South Bend, Union Hardware and a bunch of others. I will try to post the photos you asked for.

Left to right they are: Jas. L. Van Uxem Geneva; V.L.& A. Ne-Pee-Nauk; V.L. & A. Expert #3; Jupiter and Jay Harvey. The Fox Lake is not shown as I have to clean it yet.
