Oh my, Jon. You're lucky it fell parallel to the house, but losing a tree like that sure makes you sick to your stomach.

Not frost. I was taking the pics. about 5am while still dark and the flash lit it up like that. Tom: The part that makes me sick is after working on it for about 5 hours myself, what I am paying the guy to remove the rest of it.(Stump not included)

In honor of those who in service to our country have fallen like trees in the storm and in preparation for the upcoming "Brickyard 400".

Stumps and roots of large evergreens are a great source of "fatwood," resin-rich pine which we cut up into small pieces and use a fire-starters in the fireplace.

Glad no one was hurt.
