Mitchall 300

Post by Melchidael »

I have two Mitchell 300 reels which are in working condition. One is a Garcia Mitchell and is engraved "Made in France". The other says "Made in Tawain" I would appreciate finding out the value of these reels. Thanks, Melchidael

Hi! You should go to Ebay and you'll get an idea of what the reels are worth. Depending on condition, the made in France reel is worth more. Between $15-$25, more if you have the original box and paperwork. much less for the other one since its a later date and not considered as collectable.

Mitchel reels!

Post by SWIM JIG »

:D 8) :!: :?:  cool-thumb :type: USA What I have found in the (Mitchel reels are 1, they are a very extensive and vast amout of different types and styles, Ben wright the author of the Wright price Guide for the REEL MAN, has 19 pages dedicated to the mitchel reels! and It is doubtful anyone has 1 of every kind that has ever been made! WW11 took care of that! Gary Ludewig waianae HI. 96792 is a advanced student of Mitchels his email is () serial #s and deviations are beyond the imagination, I have over 300 of them and none are the same, different styling of serial nos. palcement of them, seems as if they changed their style more often then I change the line on my fishing reels! This is not to say yours is valuable or average( condition is everthing! they must be near perfect, be a certain serial # range, etc. To give a ball park price would be just that ballpark, to see the sn look at the underside of the foot on the france made reel, Acording to Bens book the 300 started in 1954 and thru 1971 thats the French reels ( I stand to be corrected) Look under the foot of the french reel for numbers and letters, They will be very faint! as to a price? untill the unknowens are known of your reel , that will be hard to advise! As for my knowledge of them? I ask the experts, as I only see these or other reels from the repair point! do parts interchange? yes and no, some can be modified to make a reel servicable again! Do I make serious of colecting them? NO I just have a lot of them, I am waiting for Gary to get stateside and go thru my accumulation! Your ohio conection Col. m. Lorens aka SWIM JIG
