Some of you have heard from Suzanne at Columbia Lakes about giving up your cottage room for Friday night only. Here's the story. The Resort inadvertently overbooked for Friday. (We are OK for Tue/Wed/Thur.) Since the overbooking involved a recurring Leukemia fund raiser with VIPs that is sponsored by the owner of the Resort we became vulnerable. After some negotiations we agreed that we would give up the necessary number of cottage rooms for Friday. In return the room rate for the lodge rooms has been reduced to $49 per night for the entire convention. The Resort also removed our requirement to meet a minimum number of rooms or face the possiblity of the Club paying for rooms not rented. They are calling affected individuals. We will not have to vacate Cottage rooms until the late afternoon Friday. Thus, it won't affect our room trading because we will be moving into the big room on Friday afternoon.
If we should overflow completely Friday, the Resort will put the overflows up in a local motel for the $49 rate. Those who have already made reservations will not face this risk.
