Posting anonymously under "guest"

Post by mortepa »

For now you must actually logon the site in order to post a message. The ability to post under guest is giving an error. I am going to work on this later tonight. Hopefully it will be an easy fix...yeah right! :-)

Sorry for the inconvenience to all you anonymous folks...

I will address user account issues and things later tonight for those of you that used to post anonymously, and now are having issues logging in.

Thanks much,
Paul

Good job Paul! I guess that is why you make the BIG Bucks. In my humble opnion, You should have to log on and leave an valid E-Mail address before you can post something. But then again, I think gas should be $.65 cents a gallon and they would deliver it to your vehicle!

 Hi guys! Im not sure how easy it would be to track but if possible we should take a page out of private clubs who let you enjoy their facilities 2 or 3 times before requiring you to join the club. This would ensure that " reel "collectors will join and help expand ORCA. I'll be the first to admit that some guests bring quite a lot to the forum and this might turn them off but most guests who actually bother to post are only advertising thier site or trying to sell something. Just a thought. :type: Canadian

Paul: Thank you for your fine work.

Harvey: I'm with you on the site stuff. If everyone loged in with name it would sure be good for new users to learn who is who.
I like low price gas too. I like .19/gal. Then a buck would get you 5 gal. It was always nice to see 5 gal gas empty from those old Glass Pumps.

Tony: What is price of gas in the northland? Don't vote for a limit - maybe a complexity we really don't need. But, we might set up a common password like Tennessee, or the state the Poster is from, then maybe it would be easier for members to remember, and readers to know from where the Post is coming from, if not a name.

Paul: Is there a site where new users can learn how to use all the little icons and stuff at the top of the Post. Things like Code, List, List=, etc kind of scare me. Then, how to post Photo. And when Harvey posts something in COLOR, I am just amazed!

Anyway: Good Job. Dale.

DALE,
To change color, Highlight what you want to color then go up and click on font colours then choose a color. To post a picture, you need to have a picture stored somewhere on the web. The Picture Repository on the top will store them and give you a URL address which you can either paste here or bracket it with the tag above labeled "IMG" Clickon that then past your URL then click on it a gain. It will show up as If you have a picture on your computer, you can go to Upload Picture above and follow directions.
Hope this helps.

Try doing it this way:

1. Type the message.
2. To change text color, size, whatever, highlight the text you want to change.
3. Click on the "bold," "italics," and/or "underline" button above, and/or select font colour (colour?) and/or size from the dropdown menus above.
4. Check the result using the "Preview" button below before clicking on the "Submit" button.

This message looks like this before being submitted:

This is a message to test my skill at color control. To make is worthwhile for you readers, I am planning a measurement program to help identify no-name reels, or reels made by contract or what ever. So. here goes:

1. Measure Top Pillar Diameter.
2. Measure Foot Pillar Diameter.
3. Measure Arbor Diameter.

I have already made a lot of Test cases, I believe these few data points will solidify conclusions. If anyone wants to join in you just need a good vernier to read in .oo1". I don't do metric. You may be surprised that these few tests can change your opinion about a special reel!

Ok. Now for the coloring/size stuff.

Thanks Harvey and Steve. Tony: Gas/Gal is not the same as Gas/Liter.
Wow, A piece of CAKE! Milt - YOUR TURN?

Paul--Many thanks for getting me back into the system. It is, of course, just another way for me to buy things I don't need. Spence Conley
