Looking for some information on this reel I cannot find anything on either of the engravings .... best suggestion was possibly Montague made and engraved with "Amacoy" - Lake Amacoy Wisconsin and the owners name.
The reel is excellent condition no slop and in high speed it coasts a very long way with a flick of the handle. Click is very solid and so is low gear. Needs a new handle nut for sure.
I would be most interested in trading for a tougher Wisconsin made lure for my collection once I can establish a value range or will listen to any offer.

"Amacoy" would have been the model name engraved at the factory (I'm guessing Montague, too) and, as a "trade" reel, possibly sold through a Wisconsin retailer. The person's name engraved at the top would have been done after it left the factory, perhaps as a presentation reel.

Bullard & Gormley of Chicago sold a reel marked "Amacoy" but it was also marked with their name as well. It is a Montague reel. Is yours nickel plated brass?
I agree Amacoy marked pre plating and hand engraved post manufacture or at minimum a secondary operation after plating as evidenced by the exposed brass from the engraving process.
