Mildrum # 30 single roller top guide.

Post by 54bullseye »

I am looking to buy a Mildrum # 30 single roller top for a Montague hollow glass rod. Can any one help steer me in right direction. There is a # 28 on Ebay but I don't want to mess with the tip of the rod. Hope to hear back from some one !!! Thanks !! John Taylor

John, I will check at home and see what I have that might help. If you don't hear back from me, pls PM me to remind. I don't recall seeing numbers on those guides....are they marked?

John there not marked but the ring guide that came off the rod which I believe was a replacement is approximately 7/16" or 15/32" at the opening. Thanks for looking !!

John, these are some single roller tip guides that I have...not sure if this is what you mean and need? The large ones take a 7/16 drill bit for snug fit, if you have a larger salt rod, this may be what you need? The smaller ones take a 0.136" or 0.128" bit. Let me know if I'm on the right track

John the big one is an Allen and it would work but I think the Mildrum single roller is what they used on that rod. Thank you very much for trying !! John

I also have a bunch of single roller tip guides but not sure how to determine size. Most of mine are in very usable condition. give me some clues what to look for.

Al, sounds like the 7/16" size is what John needs, but he's not wanting the Allen brand (pickypickypicky!)...if you have Mildrum, then you can fill his order. Go get out your drill bits and see what size gives you the best fit in your guides!

I wish I could help but I cannot identify Mildrum because everything have is unmarked except for the Allen brand. I have searched the web looking for Mildrum images with no for sure results. So all my unmarked roller tip tops remain a mystery.
