:o  :!: :?:  cool-thumb :type: USA First thing its unlikly they are Proto types My older Zebco factory manuals show them listed, as for value? Your 7015 if decent around $20.00 and if all paperwork, original box , and sales Slip will add a few $s for a colector, the Fly reel is a good user unles again you have original box, paperwork and sales slip. Our member Clint Beeler, is well established with ZEBCO and Knows about the Proto types! His Email is () His Father worked for ZEBCO for many years, and Clinton is now writting a book on ZECO , Clint has most all the Proto types! Your Ohio Conection On Lake Erie Col. M. Lorens aka SWIM JIG . ( excuse the dbl. entry it just happened!)

Hi guys,

The 178 and 156 fly reels were made by ABU and distributed in the US by Zebco. I have the 156 and it says ABU on the top. The 178 should too. If I remember correctly they were only made in 1978-79 so there probably aren't a lot of them floating around.

The Sterling spinners were also produced. I have a 7025. I'd have to check to be sure (I'm at work right now), but I think that series was actually made by Sugita in Japan.

Regards,
Clinton
