How do you get epoxy off a rod and reel?
Picked up a nice left hand Shimano reel attached to a nice rod in a good field find. Didn't notice that the reel is epoxied to the rod. Any idea how to remove it without damaging the reels finish? Thanks!

Depending on the rod or handle material try a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the epoxy. Do it slowly & carefully until it will pop loose, then clean them up the same way & with alcohol.

Also be sure to use something like wood or plastic and/or something softer that won't mar or scratch surface. Keep in mind that it will be able to move the glue a lot easier with it after you've added heat. Tight Lines Nick in NY
