Can someone with a great memory tell me what year and edition of Reel News had an article on the Hurd Combos

You need to buy this book or the hard cover. The articles are a great read. It's well worth the investment and there's complete Reel News index by author and by subject from 1991-2015 in the back of the book.

Why can't I find that in the Reel News index? Am I missing something or is the index?

If this is the Reel News Index you are referring to, Paul, it goes through 2007. I'm pretty sure that was part of the reason for the comprehensive index, both by author and by article 1991-2015, in the "History of the Fishing Reel" book.

Tom is correct. The index only goes up to 2007. The index in the book is meant to replace the one online and was meant to be uploaded, along with other improvements to the site. It's coming.
