Rubber repairs and polishing/lubing were carried out as detailed in the club's Cleaning and Restoration manual, available at our ebay store (oldreelcollector) or in the ORCA store. Great little reel and rare! Proud owner is Robyn Summerlin
Prrrreettty nice job! Where'd the rubber dust come from and what kind of epoxy did you use? (as he opens his own copy of the Reel Restoration book, haha)

Just one more reason to buy a copy if you don't already own one.
Nice job, John. I am curious about filling the rubber where the missing chunk is adjacent to a screw. Do you leave the screw in place and fill around it, or do you fill the hole and drill/tap a new thread, or some other approach?
All of the above, Paul! In this case, most of the gaps were due to shrinkage and where the part was loose, I was able to put them back together and glue them up. But something had to give when I put the reel back together and two of the cracks at the pillars opened again. I then just let the crack have its way and filled in with epoxy/rubber dust mix, then blended in.
