Some photos of the reel would be nice. Kencor Sports, Inc was/is an importer, based in CA starting in the mid '70s. They imported mostly Japanese sporting goods, toys, and fishing related equipment, mainly rods and reels. They filed for some new trademarks in 2006 and that pertain to fishing rods and rod blanks and import those. Their major claim to fame was this drag plate where the spokes were twisted @ a 90 degree angle for supposedly easier adjustment. I'm not sure what Japanese manufacturer made their reels, probably Olympic or Daiwa, though.
