ORCA patch with Penn reel on it

I was wondering when ORCA will be having a patch available with a Penn reel on it for all of us Penn reel collectors. It sure would be nice. Count me in on that patch.

You're right, Fishhead. I just checked all the ORCA collector patches through the years and the Penn reel hasn't been issued yet. I'll be sure to take this suggestion to the ORCA board (all of whom are on this board pretty frequently) for discussion. We love suggestions about things that help make our hobby interesting and make ORCA a good organization. Thanks!

What model would best represent the company's history?

Perhaps a Model F?

A Senator (first year 4/0, 9/0, or 16/0)

or a Squidder?

So many choices.

That is a good question. A 1st generation Penn Senator 16/0 would be awesome. Then again a Model F is the first of the first but it is not a very impressive looking reel like the Penn 16/0.

When you decide on the Penn reel you would like to show on a patch, send me an email with the information and who I contact to get a good quality color photo of the reel. I have one on file for next year that was submitted already, but having a couple to present to the board would be better. Your email would serve as a place holder and provide who I would need to contact.

I would recommend using a photo of a first generation Penn Senator, such as one if those posted on Brian P's website (with his permission of course).

For instance, here is one of a first Gen 16/0 (one of only 3 known to us collectors)...
