Cardiff Show was Fun!

Post by john elder »

And thanks to ORCAn Dave Contreras, I made some great additions to the collection!

Lots of ORCA folks in attendance...as usual, I didn't get around to take enough pics, but here are a few:

Dave Contreras; Jerry Scharfenberg; Mike Farrior and recent life member, Ron Lewis; and Glen Brewton

As usual, some great displays from Mike Farrior, including some of his many Coxe reels and as well as an early fishing artefact collection that he is putting together:

Some reels and lures from the Stead estate that I brought along:

And as always, some great....scratch that...some tackle..came in off the street! This was one I have fondly named "before"

John, the cradle in the case Mike believes to be the earliest cradle that coxe ever made. He was not known for cradles until he was not himself.... ie, in Bronson.

Tommy, i fear she will be a bit more yellow after cleanup but i will see what can be done!

Great to see the people as well as the reels, thank you John. That's a great Stead display you have there, well done. Congrats on the Coxe with the round drag, so hard to find. And of course, some very nice Coxe reels in Mike's collection too. Gotta make it out there, NEXT YEAR FOR SURE!
Thanks again for sharing!

Thanks for posting the photos and descriptions. It seems like the great shows that we took for granted in the past are becoming more and more rare.

That's quite a reel rescue, John. Very nice. Just enough but not too much.
