I have just inherited a bamboo rod. As I do not fly fish, or have any interest in antiques, it would be better suited to somebody who appreciates its value.
It is by Ike Walton, No. 1314 and is 7'. All eyes and whippings are in perfect condition. The paint work is slightly scratched obscuring the actual name of the rod although I can make out the letters Ta_ _ e. The rod says Made in U S A.
I would greatly appreciate if anybody could provide me with some information about this rod. I have searched, without joy, endlessly on the internet for information/value and cannot find a similar rod anywhere.
I can be contacted via email at
Thanks very much
Tight Lines!

H-I Rods on Banjo's Site
I suspect it's a Horrocks Ibbotson rod, and maybe the Ike Walton was a merchant mark they used. White or yellow script lettering naming the rod model was a virtual trademark for H-I. I also have a guess that the lettering spelled Tahoe.
Condition is everything.
Shorter 2-piece rods - 7-footers are generally more desirable than longer rods.
Regarding condition, storage is everything. If it was ever kept in the attic or garage, it shouldn't be considered for sale.
If it has a good storage history, I'll talk with you about it.
Cheers,
Ron Mc
