So i just bought this 1957 watercolor painting/illustration that features Ernest Hemingway fishing with a Penn reel (and Yes- in the Kennedy library its confirmed that Hemingway used Penn later in life- Sometimes). He is on the Pilar with Gregorio Fuentes- same shirt, watch, hat, etc as he has been pictured in while filming the Old Man & The Sea... the first - Spencer Tracy version, partially in Cabo Blanco... This was painted by 20th century Illustrator A. Harris Moorimack. I'm sure i've seen this is a Magazine before- BUT I'm trying to find it! anyone recognize this?
Here is Ernest Hemingway's tackle list for Cabo Blanco while filming the Old Man and the Sea. NOTE: PENN REELS on Hemigways List. Also below a picture of Hemingway on land- playing with a Penn and Tycoon rod.
Here is Ernest Hemingway while filming the Old Man & The Sea (with Spencer Tracy) this is the look i believe the artist was going for, though made Hemingway look a bit younger. Note, Shirt, Watch, Hat etc.. I'm still trying to find the publication this painting was in, I'm almost certain it was a magazine article... any clues appreciated.
