I have the opportunity to purchase an Edward Vom Hofe #423 6/0 and a Otto Zwarg #400 2/0 in what is described as "Good, but not excellent, condition" seller says they have a few scratches in the metal, and the Vom Hofe has some light green corrossion in spots on the metal parts. He said the Zwarg was a bit nicer than the Vom Hofe, that its end plates were darker. Both reels are mechanically sound.
No cases or anything with them.
He is going to send them to me for inspection, then I will make him an offer. I expect he will accept any fair offer I give him.
I'll have to compare the Vom Hofe to one I have, and keep the best, which I expect will be the one I currently have. Will sell the worst of the two. Will definitely keep the Zwarg.
What do you think would be a fair price for the two reels?
I looked both reels up in several books, but the prices I found were reels in excellent shape.
