Does anyone know about a Pezon&Michel reel I own?

Post by Mr. Big »

I have had in my possession for years now a French Pezon & Michel reel, model LEXOR,year unknown, not found on reel. The reel body is a flat grey with a stainless steel handle and guts with a black rubber handle in perfect shape.
It also has printed on it "Made in France-Brevete S.G.D.E." and "LICENSE P. MAUBORGNE". Has a stamp "A" by a screw and french words I believe to lock and unlock the body with a large flat grey screw knob. Checking
the reel ratings I believe it should be a A6 or A7, in pretty good shape overall. Works perfectly. I do have digital photos of it but cannot download onto this page.
Any feedback would be appreciated or where I can go to get it valued. I reside in NH. Thank you.

Luxor.
Don't claim to be an expert on these, but do have a couple of examples, a very nice boxed full-bail reel with papers, and a very fun half-bail reel on an ultralight fiberglass rod.
I also think there were 3 sizes (?), designated by letters - hence the A, the smallest size. The larger sizes are a bit more rare, especially the big salt water size.
I would think that Ben Wright's book would tell you more about these than you ever wanted to know, including values.

:D MR. BIG,
YOUR LUXOR REEL DEPENDING ON MODEL AND CONDITION COULD BE WORTH FROM $ 50-$150.00. I RECENTLY SOLD A CREAMPUFF MINUS HANDLE FOR $150.00. HOPE THIS HELPS. GOOD LUCK
