After delays with the printer and the post office, the July Reel News finally went on the mail truck today.
With luck, some of you will find the magazine in your mailboxes later this week. Thanks for your patience with this first issue under the new regime
Stay cool!
Richard
I'm wringing my hands a bit over this but yes, the July issue is in the hands of the post office and should arrive any day. I hope ORCAns post a note when their copies arrive in various parts of the country. And check out Brian's great story from the convention in Texas!
Next issue will be out mid-September.
Anyone interested in writing a short story about the NFLCC convention, with a photo or two? Let me know.
Deadline for columns and stories will be Aug. 15.
Thanks for your patience!
It's here in NY! Great job Richard, and thanks Brian for a great article on the 2005 Texas event. I can tell you there won't be any gators roaming the grounds at Ft. William Henry, but there is a Frankenstein wandering the streets of the Lake George to get people into the House of Wax! In the words of Count Floyd, "Scary stuff kids, Ooooo"
Mine made it to Michigan - just spent an extra hour in the "reading room" on my initial skim-through:
Loved seeing my picture in there (didn't the rest of you all?)
Brian is even nicer in person than he seems in writing (is that possible?)
Stu cracks me up - casting enhancement with crossbow technology - and trust me, he's serious! (He no doubt got the idea from Phil's 2002 Ugly Reel toss prototype Snoopy with the 8 inch rocket pack!)
I've owned both of those Ocean City baitcasters, Phil, and if you had gotten off the Lake a few years earlier, I would have known to keep'm!
And by the way, Bill may have had the biggest bass in the Fishing Contest and the largest documented channel bass, but I had a pretty cool fishing hat (like from Cabela's!) AND I caught a fish after Schottenham finally gave me one of those wacky hooks!
Just my way of proving to Carl that I can read and that I get a lot out of the reel News. I have always appreciated how wickedly dedicated Phil and the Rubber Reel Lady were to consistently serve us up a quality rag (I still have visions of that poor little dog dragging a sled full of Reelnews to the Washington post office the year Idaho froze over). Which brings me to say - Good Job Richard - just out of the shoot and lookin' O-Kay! All transitions have their bumps and you have some mighty big hip waders to fill, so you deserve to sit back and enjoy that first pipe load to yourself - after that, "chew got to chair, man!"

I just got back from a vacation and found the issue waiting for me when I got home. I managed to quickly look through it before conking out last night. Great job Richard! I found the layout very pleasing and easy to read.
P.S. - I think the volume number/issue number are wrong.
OK, the mail delivered today Monday da 1st, and still don't have mine! Hope the old Geezer posts it on his site so I can read it before it's time for the next one.
