Last fishing trip 2019 - Salmon fishing in Scotland

Post by Jacob : salmonfisher03 »

Here some pictures of my last fishing trip 2019.
Fished some of the last days in October in river Tweed in Scotland.

But the first days on this trip was together with my wife, so we visited Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland.
Very nice and interesting city, can recommend everyone to visit Edinburgh.
So the first pictures are from Edinburgh.

View of the old city.

Monument

Edinburgh castle at night.

After 3 days in Edinburgh, my wife got on a plane, and flew back to Denmark, and I moved on to the river.

Me and my new best friend, the river dog 8)

The fishing team for the week. We all had caught salmon :D but again this year it was very difficult fishing.

Looking forward to the 2020 season, the first trips are booked

Best regards

Jacob, I always enjoy seeing your pictures. I fished for 25 years for salmon here in the states. It was always a great time. I really hope you continue your posts. How about some pictures of the catch?
Best regards and keep the lines tight!

Glad you like the pictures.

The salmon I caught have been in the river for a while, that is why it is so dark and not silver.

The salmon was 80 cm long.

These 4 dogs belonged to the guide. They loved to sit there when we went to the different places by the river :D

@ Randy which rivers have you fished in the States?

Jacob,
I fished in upstate New York, in streams that empty into Lake Ontario. The Salmon River, Little Salmon River and Stony Creek. All were great fishing! I never fished with a fly outfit, always used spinning equipment and Cleo spoons. The salmon were like a freight train! What a thrill! This is a picture of one of my catches. She’s not that big, but lots of thrill!
Best,
