Re: Any “Ultra” reel collectors recognize these?
Those would have been sold through Shapleigh Hardware Co. in St. Louis. They owned the trade marked "Diamond Mfg." brand of tackle. "Diamond Mfg. Co." was a brand name, rather than an actual manufacturer.

Thanks, Mark. Your post led me to edit the thread title and then find several articles on Shapleigh Hardware. I’m searching for a catalog now. Thanks again.

PS when searching old blogs from other sites, it’s a shame that many of the great tackle photos that accompanied those articles are no longer visible due to web hosting issues. I pray that never happens to Orcaonline.

It shouldn't ever be a problem as long as the photos are hosted here at ORCA.Mike N wrote:Thanks, Mark. Your post led me to edit the thread title and then find several articles on Shapleigh Hardware. I’m searching for a catalog now. Thanks again.

Use an outside hosting source and you're always at their mercy! They can change the rules at any time.
Love those Open Face Spinning Reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco)

Yep, we have Brian and Dr. Elder and others to thank for their foresight on ORCA’s Reel Talk.
