Appreciation for Lang's Packaging

Post by Bill Muth »

Much appreciation for Lang's packing their items to withstand a brutal assault, because that is what this box experienced. You can actually see the boot or shoe imprint where someone kicked the box hard to try to destroy the contents. Fortunately, everything appears to have survived the abuse.

Man, haters gonna hate. Nothing like an underbidder who realizes too late he should’ve clicked the button one last time.

My Lang’s package arrived Monday in pristine condition with enough bubble wrap to reinsulate my duck blind this fall.

Our box arrived like Mike’s. Insulated for the Antarctic and well taped.

Maybe if the box had more “fragile” stickers on it the USPS people would have been more careful. It probably got caught on the conveyor and a carefully placed kick or two with the boot was the remedy.

All right, Bill. You have to tell us what a reel guy like you won in the auction that required so many “fragile” stickers in the first place, and still survived in tact. The box looks a bit too small for that Talbot display case, but...

Nothing but reels for this guy (and none of that Talbot crap). My Lang's shipping boxes always seem to have the fragile stickers affixed. I do feel a bit fortunate that no reel boxes were included in this shipment. Even with perfect packaging I think a reel box positioned anywhere near the edge of this box would have been damaged.

Oh, and just kidding Talbot guys. I know that Talbot made reels almost as nice as Meek and Horton.

“Fragile” means “throw me” in the USPS dictionary.

My first ever Langs purchase arrived Monday. I agree with everyone that the packaging was impressive to say the least. I was very pleased.

Well, Bill, my big box arrived and its almost as crushed as yours.... and has been wet on the crushed side, which likely contributed to the damage.. but the secondary wrappings saved the day and fortunately, no paper goods won!

I won a Penn 14/0 in the recent auction. I was so impressed with the packaging! A reel that large and heavy is a challenge to ship...I know. My reel arrived in perfect shape. The packaging exceeded my expectations. Sorry for the bad experiences, but mine couldn't have been better.
