Anton Lauby and his children originally carved and painted these wooden lures in their garage in Marshfield, Wisconsin. The company eventually grew to up to 35 employees by 1939 when it was sold to Albert Bates. The wooden baits ranged in size from 1-1/2” fly rod baits to 7” Muskie lures.
I particularly like the way the painted wooden Lauby baits “alligator” and age, and the variety of colors they were painted.
Anyone else have a favorite vintage lure?
