Does anyone know if Shakespeare offered any catalogs for these four years? Thanks.

Shakespeare Catalogs 1916-1919
Re: Shakespeare Catalogs 1916-1919
Mark,
Shakespeare did offer a catalog in 1916 per the Lang’s Fall 2010 auction catalog. See photos below.

The 1916 catalog is available in our ORCA library (catalog No. 20):
https://www.orcaonline.org/product-tag/ ... 6-catalog/
Since the 1923 catalog published 7 years later is marked No. 23, it appears that only two catalogs (#21 and #22) were issued by Shakespeare in the 6 years between 1917 thru 1922, inclusive.

A 1915 catalog (#19) just sold today on ebay. Sure would love to see catalogs #21 and #22 get added to our library! Does anyone know which years they were published?

There is some confusion about how Shakespeare numbered their regular catalogs vs. their trade catalogs. I'm going to get some photos together later to show what I mean.

When the NFLCC actually had a libtary and sent out xerox copies, the 1916 was one that was available. It was huge as Shakespearesold baits by many different makers at that time.
I love to get old reels, work on them until they run as smooth as silk and the take them fishing using pre-1960 plugs, mostly surface fishing for Largemouths after dark.

Re: Shakespeare Catalogs 1916-1919
I'm trying to find out if Shakespeare numbered their REGULAR ("Fine Fishing Tackle") and TRADE ("Factory To Dealer") catalogs the same and if those catalog numbers for each corresponded to the same years. I believe that the Catalog #20 could actually be for 1920 or 1916. Regardless, there are apparently missing years from maybe 1916 to 1920 for each type of catalog. I'll try to explain my confusion.
1. Here's a photo of Wm. Shakespeare Jr.'s REGULAR Catalog #17, which corresponds to 1912-1913, as far as is known. It's also the first one I know of with a "Catalog Number".

2. Wm. Shakespeare Jr.'s Catalog #18, which I assume corresponds to 1914, is one I've never seen or heard of.
3. Here's a photo of the REGULAR Catalog #19 for 1915, the last one offered under the Wm. Shakespeare Jr. company name.

4. Here's a photo of the previously discussed Shakespeare Co. REGULAR Catalog #20. Chronologically, one would think it's for the year 1916 but, as you'll later see below, it could very well be for 1920. If a Catalog shows up dated 1920, it might help solve this.

5. Here's a photo of the Shakespeare Co. TRADE Catalog #21, clearly dated for 1921.

6. Don't have a catalog for 1922 (hopefully someone here does), but I assume it's Catalog #22.
7. Here's a photo of the Shakespeare Co. TRADE Catalog #23, clearly dated 1923.

All subsequent catalog numbers correspond to the year, whether they be Regular or Trade catalogs. There are clearly some missing years during the WW1 era. Perhaps they weren't printed for several years? Hopefully, some members have some examples of Regular or Trade catalogs not shown here that might clear up Shakespeare's numbering system. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.

When time permits, I will be adding Catalog #21 (1921) to our library.

Thanks Mark, that is very useful information for these years. And thanks for willingness to share #21 for the library!

If anyone has any Shakespeare catalogs that are from the 1916 to 1920 period, I'd love to hear about them. Thanks in advance.
