it is pretty. Make everything look white and clean. But then I wake up and realize my world is defective. Everything that is supposed to be OK, is not OK. Given a choice, I will take Summer every time.

I'm with Mike, I used to like winter, then I moved up north where I have to deal with it for 200 days of the year. Today I spent the few hours of daylight breaking the hardpack on the the driveway and transferring 100 gallons of heating oil into the tank at -14F. It reminds me of the Red Green poem.
"It is winter, A time to pause.
The driveway is half shoveled out but I lay down the shovel and pause to enjoy this moment.
After all, it is my first heart attack."

Be careful out there.

Hello Jason, My sympathies are with you. I know Alaska is beautiful. The fishing and hunting is like no where else. Living in a clean environment, without crowds of people choking the space you live in, but then there is the winter. It appears to me that the activity of the Summer is all about preparing to survive the Winter. I tip my hat to anyone that lives in Alaska. I will never understand why someone would choose to live in a place like that year round, but I do respect it.I'm with Mike, I used to like winter, then I moved up north where I have to deal with it for 200 days of the year.
