Looking for a little light to be shed on this 16/0 reel made by C. W. Illingworth of Ontario California. Did the searches here and elsewhere but have found little of nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Sure has a lot of Stead influence! Change the grasp and the star drag and i would have called it Stead in a heartbeat! Really nice reel that i’m sure you could easily sell here if you decided to let it go!

Fellow ORCA member Phil Beguhl had three of the Illingworth reels and may have had some information on them. One of his reels was a 16/0, is that the same reel? If not, and you are an ORCA member. look him up in the membership roster. If you are not an ORCA member, give yourself a great Christmas present and join!

Hey, Thank You for the #... It’s been some time since Gary and I had spoken...He’s a good guy for sure! Early on I made sure all my better California and better fly tackle went to him, Phil and Wayne Janson... it’s nice catching up especially with the holidays around the corner! Yes, I am going to be posting photos and videos of Gary's extensive collection sometime in the future. He is a good guy and the one that really got me into collecting seriously.
