Canadian USA I have recived a email from so called ebay registration suspension saying go to and then there is a site to bring up! I sent the message to ebays spoof site, and they have validated it as SPOOF MAIL! The email is well couched, enough that it may want anyone to go to the reregistor site, naturaly then all your imformation would be in the scammers hands! ( should anyof you recive a like email then go to( ebay says to the FOWARD BUTTON, in the field , type ***email address removed*** send the email to EBAY , I had a valid answere in less than 30 mimutes! again there is a suspention notice going around , be careful, Your ohio conection On Lake Erie Col. I get two or three of these each month. I have also sent them back to eBay. But, I gotta tell ya', the first one nearly got me. I had gone so far as to type in my password! Must have been half-asleep.
Anyhow, I immediately logged into all the 67 various accounts I had on line and changed my pass word. My 18 year old, who might be somewhat of a hack, somehow determined that whoever sent it had indeed tried to crash a few of the sites I use; including some financial ones.
All of this must have proved useful to eBay et al. The sent along a nice note to the extent that the tracking my son indulged in indeed led them to the perp, who, no surprise, was in Hong Kong.
But the stuff never stops!
Now eBay's message center has probably put the screws to it for a while. They say any message from them to your home box will also be posted in your eBay box. I would imagine they have some pretty good firewalls in operation there. So, when I get stuff from eBay et al, I just go to their site to read it.
I did one other thing, too. I changed my prime password to one different from all others. Now all I have to do is keep track of all the passwords!
However, with identity-theft the problem it is, I figure the bother is well worth while. See today's NYT.
